As parents, sometimes we get overly concerned about introducing our young ones to new experiences. The team at Timber Kids Dentistry specialize at making trips to the dentist easy for the whole family.
The AAPD advises having your child’s first dental appointment by the age of one. Even if you are past that stage and well into the toddler or teenage years, it’s never too late to start your children on a healthy path.
Your dentists do more than just fix teeth. We design treatment plans according to their age to teach your children to prevent problems, handle difficult situations confidently, and make Mom and Dad proud.
From diapers to learning how to drive, our team will help guide your children to a healthy smile and sense of self.
Your baby’s first visit to the dentist by age one is all about education and prevention of cavities. Our team will provide you and your baby all the necessary tools to ensure a healthy smile for years to come.
Toddlers understand a lot more than we give them credit for. If their first visit is around ages 2-7, our dental family will make sure they view dentistry as fun and routine, rather than scary and burdensome.
A healthy smile is especially important as your child continues to grow. From their very first visit as an infant or toddler, we’ll take steps to achieve their best smile, giving them confidence to face any challenges ahead. Depending on your child’s oral health they may graduate from our practice before their 18th birthday.
Remember, your child doesn’t know what to expect when visiting the dentist — so why not introduce it as a fun adventure? Tell them about the office, the tent in the lobby, and all the toys and games they can play with while they wait for their checkup. Walk them through the process of a routine dental appointment; you can say that they’re getting their teeth cleaned, counted, and examined. And always speak with enthusiasm and excitement!
Infants and younger children will likely want a parent to accompany them in the operatory. If your child prefers, you can even hold them in your lap throughout their appointment. Once they get more comfortable at our offices, they may want to be on their own for their exam and cleaning. We leave that decision to you and your child. The whole point is for you both to feel comfortable. Discuss it with your child beforehand, and just let us know what you’d like to do when you check in.
Whether your large family is in for back-to-back appointments, or you just want to enjoy a cup of coffee while your kid has some fun, our lobby is always open for early arrivals. It was specially designed for kids to create their own adventures while getting the healthcare they need and deserve. Come early and watch your kid make positive memories at the dentist.
We have three convenient locations in southern Oregon, so choose the one that best suits your needs! No matter which office you choose, you can expect the same stellar service at all of our locations.
